Lights, Camera, Magic!

magicalmeg234

Hello all and welcome back to the blog! I hope you all had a great week!

This week's blog is about the different shows you can see at the parks. These are not your average type of shows. You’ll see what I mean very soon...

Let's get started!

It's Tough to be a Bug

First on the list is “ It’s Tough to be a Bug” located in Animal Kingdom. In this show, you get to shrink down to the size of a bug and see the bug life's way! This show is 3D, involves animatronic characters, and is physically interactive with the crowd. What I mean by physically interactive is that there are elements that go into this show to make it seem more real. For example, there’s a time in the show when you’re in a crowd of a bunch of bugs on screen and the chairs you’re sitting in, make it feel like you’re sitting on moving bugs.

This show is actually considered to be one of the scarier attractions for children at the Disney Parks. The 3D aspect and physical interaction can be overwhelming and scary. I would know, I was one of those kids.

Mickey's Philharmagic

While we are talking about 3D shows and physical interaction, “Mickey’s Philharmagic” is next on our list!

In this show, you are taken on a magic trip throughout Disney World! You fly with Peter Pan, see a whole new world with Aladdin and Jasmine, trying the gray stuff with Belle and Lumiere and much more!

As I mentioned, this show is 3D and involves physical interaction. Both of these factors are not as intense as the “It’s Tough to be a Bug Show”. The 3D part yes things are launched towards you but not in a jump scare way. For instance, there is a time where you are in Ariel’s grotto and her thingamabobs get knocked over and as they spill out, they gently float towards you.

The physical interaction in this show is again not as intense as “It’s tough to be a bug”. I don’t want to spoil all fun so I will just tell you all that involves smell, a breeze, and a little splash of water.

Laugh Floor

Up next we have “Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor”. Here, you find yourself watching a standup comedy show hosted by Mike Wazowski himself!

An interactive part of this show is that you can send in your favorite jokes before the show for a chance to be featured in the show.

Throughout this show, Mike also likes audience participation so be prepared because you might get called on!

One time when my family and I went to the laugh floor, my Opa got called on and Mike asked him what his favorite food was and he said “bratwurst”. Now Mike didn’t know what that meant so my Opa got some extra air time to explain what a bratwurst was!

The Carousel of Progress

Our last show is none other than “The Carousel of Progress”. This can be considered a ride but I think it counts as a show.

In this show, you are taken through times of the American progress of technology! The way that it can be considered a ride is that the audience seating moves in a circle when it is time to move to a different time period!

The scenes are portrayed fully but animatronic people and devices which I find very interesting and that it ties well into the progress of technology!

One great bonus to attending this show is that you will be stuck with the song “There’s a great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” in your head for the rest of your Disney trip!
