Coasting through the Parks!

Hi Everyone! I hope you all enjoyed last week's posts learning all about where the different parks are. If this is the first blog post of mine you’re reading, welcome to Meg’s Magical Guide to Disney! I’m so happy you’re here. This week I am going to be talking about what to expect in each type of park and some of the popular rides within them!

For more information about each park, just click on the park's name and it will take you to the official Disney site for that park!

Ana cannot capture the excitement I am feeling about this post but she's pretty close!

This park is the one all about the animals. (as you can get from the name) Here, you will find one of the newest additions to Walt Disney World called Pandora. This new area is based off of the ' Avatar' movies and features two rides, Avatar Flight of Passage and the Na'vi River Journey. This is one of the newest Animal Kingdom attractions in a couple of years.

I have never seen the ‘Avatar’ movies so

I did not really know what was going on during the Na'vi River Journey ride that I waited two hours for but it was beautiful on the inside and the animatronics were outstanding.

Some of the other rides that you can find at this park are the Kilimanjaro Safari, Expedition Everest, DINOSAUR, and more!

If you are a first time park goer, I recommend Animal Kingdom being the first park you start with. It is smaller than the other ones in Walt Disney World and will prepare you for what is to come with what the rest of the parks will be like!

Have you ever wanted to travel to Canada, Mexico, England, Africa, or even...the future? If you answered yes then Epcot is the park for you. In Epcot's World ShowCase, you get to experience a little bit of some of the countries all over the world. Every country has a has a place to get food, shop, and learn more about the country you're currently in. Some countries even have rides! One of the countries that they have is Paris, France. Here you can meet Belle,

get a taste of some Parisian food, and ride the new ride Remy's Ratatouille Adventure.

Epcot stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow which ties into the futuristic side of the park. When you first walk into the park, you are presented with the one and only, Epcot Ball. Inside the Epcot Ball is the ride SpaceShip Earth

which is all about the past, present and future of our world. The front half of Epcot is the futuristic side of the park and the back half is the World Showcase. The futuristic part has rides such as Test Track which is a roller coaster type ride that is in the form of a race track!

This park is a little different because there is not one theme to it like Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom. I honestly think Epcot is an underrated park and people should give it some more credit because there is so much to see and do here!

If you are a lover of Star Wars, Toy Story, Hollywood Studios is the park for you! Two of the biggest attractions here are Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and Toy Story Land.

Galaxy's Edge, is the talk of the town for Star Wars lovers. You get to see the Millennium Falcon up close, taste blue milk, talk to Stormtroopers and Chewbacca, and go on a mission with the Rebellion on Rise of the Resistance. Also at Galaxy's Edge are shops where you can build your own droid and light saber.

I went for the first time in November 2021 and it was amazing. The wait times for the rides were over 90 minutes but it was so worth it. It was an experience to say the least and I cannot wait to go back!

Next to the galaxy far far away is Toy Story Land. Once you walk past Woody's statue, you will feel like you're 10 inches tall. There are old childhood toys placed all around the area to give you that nostalgic feeling.

The rides that you will find here are Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, and Toy Story Mania. All of the rides here move at a fast pace with Slinky Dog Dash being a roller coaster and Alien Swirling Saucers you are moving around in circles constantly.

There is also a little place to eat called " Woody's Lunch Box". Everything about this place screams homemade school lunch. Some of the tables and chairs are made of baby-bell cheese wheels and the food stand makes it look like you're inside of a lunch box!

Walking right down the middle of Main Street U.S.A

I am not going to lie, this is one of my favorite parks. To me, Magic Kingdom is where the original Disney magic comes to life. When you walk down Main Street U.S.A you just can’t help but smile and get excited for the day to come. Here you find rides such as Dumbo’s Flying Elephants, Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain, The Haunted Mansion, Small World, Peter Pan’s Flight of Passage and so much more! Magic Kingdom has the perfect balance of rides, places to eat and just things to see! There is something for everyone here.

I enjoy this park so much because it focuses on the more animated side of Disney and brings it to life. On some of the rides like Ariel’s Undersea Adventure you go through the whole story while you’re in a little clam shell watching it physically happen right in front of your eyes!

Given by the title you can already assume that the only location that has this park is in California. California Adventure Park contains the “Hollywood Land” attractions you would find in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.

At this location, they have the new “Avengers Campus”.

There you can meet all your favorite Marvel superheroes and villains. Also in California Adventure Park, you have Cars Land and Paradise Pier which have rides such as California Screamin' which is a roller coaster and Radiator Springs Racers where you and your group of people and another car of people race around a track!

Last but not least we’re talking about the infamous Disneyland parks. The California, Paris, Hong-Kong, and Tokyo locations all have Disneyland. I know you must be thinking “Meg, why would they make the same park so many times?" I'm glad you asked!

Though the parks have the same name, and some of the same attractions, they do have their differences! One difference is that the locations in Europe and Asia have the Avenger’s Campus rides and attractions within their DisneyLand park while the California location has it in a separate park. Disneyland and Magic Kingdom are rather similar but still have differences.

In this TikTok by Megan Heneghan, her and a friend are talking about the differences in Magic Kingdom and Disneyland trying to one up the other, but come to the agreement on one specific attraction.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this entry as must as I did writing it! It was so much fun doing research on the parks that I have not visited before and learning all about the different aspects of them! Come back next week to learn about the best snacks, meals, and places to eat that the parks has to offer!

Have a magical day!
